Frequently Asked Questions

Purchasing Workshops
Registering for a workshop requires that the participant create a CenterStat account to access videos and written lecture materials and receive workshop-related communications. If you would like to purchase a workshop on behalf of someone else, we recommend that the participant proceed through the registration process themselves; upon reaching the payment options, they can select "send invoice" and have an electronic invoice issued to you for payment. Note that the participant is not officially registered in the workshop until payment has been received.
Yes. You can join our email list to receive occasional messages about free resources, new workshops, or price discounts. Note that we do NOT share email addresses and we keep our mailings to a minimum. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Self-Paced Workshops
Specific materials vary by workshop, but all classes provide lecture videos and a PDF containing all lecture slides with additional notes and annotations (e.g., references, details, side comments). The vast majority of courses also include extensive software demonstration videos, notes, data, and syntax files. Please see our sample materials for more details.
You will have lifetime access to all workshop materials upon enrollment, meaning for as long as you choose to retain your account and we remain in business. You can download and retain all PDFs as well as data and syntax files indefinitely; you are not able to download videos, but you can watch these repeatedly for as long as your heart desires.
Yes. The majority of our workshops are evergreen. This means that when you enroll in an evergreen workshop, you will automatically have access to the most up-to-date materials for that workshop. For instance, if we update any videos, notes, or software demonstrations after the time that you originally registered, you will have access to those updates when you view the workshop through your account. You will thus always have indefinite access to the most recent version of workshop materials.
Yes. When you access your workshop materials, you will find a certificate link at the bottom of the "Workshop Content" outline. Clicking this, you are prompted to attest to having completed the workshop, upon which you may generate a PDF certificate of completion.
Note that "My Certificates" within your account holds only previously generated certificates. New certificates must be generated by accessing your workshop through "My Workshops" and following the steps described above.
Unfortunately, no. Workshop access is granted to a single individual and cannot be shared or transferred. You can transfer credits toward workshop enrollments, but once you redeem credits for a workshop it is yours alone.
Due to the nature of the online course format, registration fees are non-refundable for self-paced workshops.

Integrated Curriculum
We strongly believe that one of our greatest strengths relative to other training providers is our highly structured and integrated curriculum on quantitative and qualitative methods and research design. We have designed all of our workshops around four pathways: Foundations, Measurement and Latent Variable Modeling, Longitudinal Data Analysis, and Data Science. Our workshops are explicitly designed to complement other offerings within each pathway as well as establishing links across pathways. This provides an integrated training platform as opposed to the more common “laundry list” of possible classes.
Although we offer a certificate of completion for every workshop, we do not provide any further formal accreditation. Some academic institutions may allow workshops to count toward degree requirements but we do not control this ourselves. Students are advised to check with their program administrators to determine if this is a possibility.
We have carefully selected our CenterStat faculty based jointly on their command of the material and their teaching ability. Many of our instructors hold faculty positions at top universities, have received university and national teaching awards, and have written the leading textbooks in their field. Plus, they are all really nice and we sincerely like one another.
No. We hold no financial relationship with any other entities, such as software companies. We demonstrate the programs and packages that we believe are most optimal and most widely used without any financial incentive to emphasize one program over another.
My CenterStat Account
No. Your account will never expire, at least for as long as we remain in business, which we hope will be a very long time.
Yes. You can log into your CenterStat account using your username and password even if your email address has changed. You can change the email by going to "Account" in your profile menu and then clicking "Login Information". However, you are not able to reset your password without first updating your email as the password reset request will be sent to the email under which the account is currently registered. Please contact us for additional help.
If you know your password and simply want to change it, log in, go to "Account" in your profile menu, and click “Login Information”. From there, you can easily make the change. If you forgot your password, you can follow the Forgot password? link that appears when you click “Sign In”. A password reset link will be sent to the email address under which your account is registered. If all else fails, please contact us.
