The Center for Statistical Training by Curran-Bauer Analytics, CenterStat, offers rigorous yet accessible training workshops in applied data analysis and research methodology that are explicitly targeted to empirical researchers in the social, behavioral and health sciences.
Our guiding philosophy places an equal balance on the underlying methodology and the thoughtful application and interpretation of these methods in practice.
We provide two types of integrated training experiences.
First, we offer a broad array instructional materials that are completely free of charge including pre-recorded lectures and computer demonstrations as well as extensive notes and software syntax and data. Just click the “Free Resources” menu option in the page header and get started!
Second, we offer highly focused self-paced workshops on an array of topics in contemporary quantitative methods that have been explicitly designed to form an integrated curriculum of training in topics ranging from introductory to advanced.
We realize there are many different organizations that offer online training in data analysis and research methodology. However, we respectfully believe that we offer a variety of significant and unique advantages over these other training opportunities.
Engagement
Let's face it, remote instruction can be dreadfully boring. That's why we've worked hard to ensure that our classes continue to be highly engaging. We select instructors based on both expertise and teaching excellence. Overall, our participants agree that our instructional approach results in a high level of engagement and even (dare we say it) entertainment. Here's a summary of what participants said in our teaching evaluations:

High-Quality Support Materials
A key component of our instruction is the provision of high-quality support materials including lecture recordings, detailed course notes, software demonstration notes, and multiple sample data sets and syntax files, written in a variety of commonly used software packages. We believe what we provide to far exceed our competitors, both in quality and scope, but you can decide for yourself by viewing our sample materials.
Because we are not affiliated with any commercial entity, we make no attempt to encourage the use of any single software package over any other but rather focus on the match between the capabilities of the software and the needs of the researcher.
Enrollments in current workshops provide lifetime access to the recordings and other course materials. We are also transitioning classes toward provision of evergreen content, so that participants will always have access to our most current recordings and course materials, including any updates since they enrolled in the class.
