Wes Bonifay, Ph.D.
Wes Bonifay is an Associate Professor in the Statistics, Measurement, and Evaluation in Education program at the University of Missouri and the Director of Measurement at the Missouri Prevention Science Institute. He received his PhD in Quantitative Psychology from UCLA. His research, which has been awarded funding from the Institute of Education Sciences, focuses primarily on developing and refining methods of statistical model evaluation, with an emphasis on item response theory, factor analysis, and other latent variable measurement models. His methodological work has been published in Psychological Methods, Psychometrika, Behavior Research Methods, Structural Equation Modeling, and related journals, and his applied collaborations have appeared in outlets such as Nature Reviews Psychology, Psychological Inquiry, and Perspectives on Psychological Science. He also authored the textbook Multidimensional Item Response Theory. Currently, Wes serves as an Associate Editor of Advances in Methods and Practices in Psychological Science and as an Editorial Board member of Psychological Methods and Assessment.
